Position Summary
The Employee Relations Specialist II provides employees relations and general HR support guidance for managers, supervisors and associates. Responsibilities include but not limited to facilitation and resolution of employee relations matters, conducting training, and policy and procedure creation and administration. Reviews data to create metrics for operational application.
Minimum RequirementsEducation
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in employee relations with a strong knowledge of general human resources, laws, policies, processes, and programs to include EEO1,FMLA, ADA, FLSA, HIPAA, EEO, etc. Healthcare experience desired.
License/Registration/Certifications
- SHRM certification preferred.
Core Job Responsibilities
Assists the Employee Relations Manager with employee-related programs, and facilitates resolution of employee relations issues.
- Provide coaching, counseling and mentoring to employees and management on day-to-day-human resource management administration and existing policies, programs and processes.
- Resolve complex employee relation issues.
- Ensure that policies, procedures, and the interpretation of these policies comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws. Has ability to articulate governmental rules, regulations, and procedures and the need for adherence to compliance.
- Revises and creates policies/procedures that pertain to Human Resources.
- Partners with all levels of management to develop and maintain operational and human resources strategies.
- Assists in the development and analysis of human resources reports to track necessary organizational metrics including recruitment, retention, and turnover analysis.
- Develop, coordinate and recommend changes for the improvement of workflow in identified departments.
- Prepares EEO1 Reports and EEOC position statements as needed.
- Partners with legal counsel (internal and/or external) as needed.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills to work with a variety of individuals.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, excellent proficiency in Excel).
