Tokyo Revengers: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Jeremy Looney Common Sense Media The anime offers enough moments of intensity, action, and over-the-top drama to keep some interest, but its appeal may be limited due to its narrative reminiscent of a soap opera drama. Feb 2, 2024 Full Review Tokyo Revengers: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse “Tokyo Revengers” is an excellent title, one that thrives on both story and context, and none that definitely stands out from the plethora of similar anime titles. A Geek Community Tokyo Revengers was a hit, and certainly an emotional roller coaster. The Bloody Halloween Arc dove into more interpersonal relationship issues, as well as proved it was fully aware that its main cast consists on young children. Vasto L A totally different series from those fantasy ones. This series is about High school Gangsters and how a person with timing travelling power trying to change their life. The plot is really interesting, high schoolers turned into gangsters, their fight, action, friendship, love, betrayal. It has everything along with time travelling science fiction.I loved the characterisation of Mikey, the way his character designed is awesome. A Gang leader doesn't necessarily need to tall, bulk muscle guy.Mikey is short, petite yet the strongest person in the entire series. A great leader who can just bring his gang together with his speech and action. And this guy is full of style, long hair, flying his jacket on shoulder, fighting with his flipflops, roaming around in PJs. He has his childish side where he call his fellow mates with nick names, teasing them and he also has his devil side where he is ready to kill them without mercy.I would say he is one of the best designed anime character. Takemichi and Hina's love story off balanced as there was limited screen time for her although the story revolves around her. Finally a feel good anime to watch especially if you are a student.... Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Thomas C Incrível trama onde trás o conceito de viagem temporal, visando alterar o passado para influenciar o futuro e assim melhorá-lo. A obra nos faz imaginar o que iríamos alterar em nosso passado para trazer mudanças para o hoje, e também de nunca recuar pelo medo, pois em muito tempo depois pode fazer uma baita diferença na vida. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/15/22 Full Review Audience Member My favorite anime of 2021!Engaging story, action and drama.Waiting for the second season, I've already rewatched the first season...I recommend Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review k f Such wasted potential. Tokyo Revengers had moments that carried me from episode to episode, but the elongated and circular plot can't be saved by time travel or the Butterfly Effect. As well, how many times can the lead character find his resolve to only have to find it again. I understand he is a child, but he is also a time traveling child with the experience of an adult in his mid to late 20s. At the very least, the soundtrack has merit and the characters each have personality even if it is dashed on a story that spins its wheels.
